From the MD

Welcome to the first edition of an occasional newsletter from the Mecrus Group of Companies.

The Mecrus Group has achieved a number of significant milestones in the past 12 months.

With our global partner, FAM, we have won a major contract to design, construct and commission four stacker reclaimers at Abbot Point in Queensland.

Towards the end of 2008 we announced the commissioning of the first In Situ desalination (ISD) unit at Glenkara Winery in western Victoria. Since then enquiries about this Australian-developed technology have been streaming in from around the world. The current water crisis makes this technology all the more timely given the huge reserves of untapped groundwater that exist around the world.

Australian Groundwater Technologies (AGT), our specialist team in the sustainable management of groundwater is teaming up with Desaln8 to offer an end-to-end solution for the extraction of groundwater.

While these are all critical steps in Mecrus’ development, behind the scenes our technical solutions teams continue to provide invaluable and cost effective services to a wide variety of clients in mining, energy, water and food and beverages.

I hope you find the newsletter informative. For more detailed information on the activities of the companies within the Mecrus Group, please visit our websites or give us a call.
